The Young Women Entrepreneurs (YWE) Co-founder, Beatrice Kimaro, emphasized that the TOP YWE program is not just about celebrating women's achievements but also about providing them with the knowledge, networks, and opportunities to build stronger businesses and lasting wealth. Since its launch in 2022, YWE has celebrated 191 women entrepreneurs through the TOP YWE platform. The 2026 YWE program went beyond recognition, equipping entrepreneurs with practical knowledge to grow their businesses, access finance, and build long-term wealth. The program featured key sessions, including "Unlocking Trade Finance," which focused on helping women entrepreneurs understand and access trade finance instruments to expand their businesses and enter new markets. This session aimed to bridge the financing gap faced by many women entrepreneurs.
Another significant session was "Building Wealth Beyond Business," which explored shares, bonds, collective investments, and alternative assets as pathways to diversified wealth. This session provided entrepreneurs with insights into creating wealth beyond their businesses. The program also covered "From Idea to Impact," a practical insights into building and scaling a successful beauty brand. These sessions were designed to empower women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.
The recognized entrepreneurs were from various sectors, and their businesses have made a significant impact in their respective industries. Ms. Lightness Mbise, the Chief Executive Officer at Lindsey Electronics, was among the 13 TOP YWE awardees.
