The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has called on its Research, Planning and Investment (PRI) Department to accelerate the implementation of strategic plans and projects. TANESCO Geita Regional Manager, Engineer Jahulula Jahulula, emphasized the use of technology, local expertise, and adherence to timelines and contractual obligations to improve project execution efficiency. This was during the closing of a four-day PRI Forum held at the Rock City Hotel in Mwanza.
Engineer Jahulula, representing the TANESCO Lake Zone Director, commended PRI staff for their contribution to the implementation and completion of various strategic projects. These include the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (JNHPP) with an installed capacity of 2,115 megawatts, the Kishapu Solar Power Project, and the Chalinze-Dodoma electricity transmission line. He also mentioned the signing of a contract for the construction of a 220kV transmission line from Mpomvu to the Geita Gold Mining (GGM) mine.
