The SEND service provides customers with digital mechanisms to document the pickup and delivery processes. This includes using a QR code when handing over the parcel to the driver and capturing an image of the parcel's condition at pickup. Additionally, the service offers real-time tracking of the driver's location for both the sender and recipient during the shipping process.
To ensure secure delivery, SEND employs a verification code (OTP) at the point of delivery. This guarantees that the parcel is delivered to the correct recipient and allows for the electronic closure of the shipping process. The service aims to enhance verification and reduce the risks of parcel loss or delivery to unintended parties.
Customers are required to accurately disclose the weight, size, and contents of their parcels when booking. They also have the option to inspect their parcels before they are loaded. If there is a discrepancy between the declared and actual weight or size, the shipping fees will be recalculated.
To use the SEND service, new customers must undergo an identity verification process. This involves providing a copy of their Egyptian national ID card, including the 14-digit national ID number, or their passport details. The service stores identity documents in a secure area, accessible only to authorized personnel, and does not share this information with drivers, recipients, or other customers.
The service has outlined a list of prohibited items that cannot be shipped. This list includes weapons, explosives, narcotics, flammable or corrosive materials, live animals, cash, and counterfeit goods. SWVL reserves the right to reject any shipment that does not comply with these regulations, and senders are held legally and financially responsible for any prohibited items or inaccuracies in their declarations.
The SEND service focuses on inter-city deliveries, utilizing SWVL's transportation network to move parcels without storing them at stations. If a sender or recipient misses the scheduled pickup or delivery, the parcel will continue with the bus to the next station on the route. At the final destination in Cairo, SWVL's field team will handle the parcel.
