On October 2, 2026, the Holding Company for Export Development and the Turkish company, Dogucotton, signed a partnership agreement to enhance the spinning, weaving, and cotton clothing industries in Sudan. The agreement was signed by Green Textile, a subsidiary of the Export Development Holding Company, and Dogucotton. The partnership aims to increase the value-added products of Sudan's cotton industry.

The agreement includes the import and installation of a cotton ginning machine with a production capacity of 350 tons per day, along with 120 ginning machines. Additionally, a spinning machine with European technology will be supplied, capable of producing 27 tons per day. The partnership also involves developing the infrastructure for cotton production and manufacturing cotton clothing, jeans, and other cotton products.
