Stellantis and artificial intelligence company Wayve are partnering to demonstrate hands-free, door-to-door supervised automated driving in Fiat 500e and Maserati Grecale development vehicles. The technology, known as Level 2++, will be showcased at Wave by Vento 2026 in Turin from October 7 to 9. This development is part of Stellantis' efforts to integrate advanced driver-assistance technology into its vehicles.

The demonstration vehicles use STLA AutoDrive powered by Wayve, which integrates the Wayve AI Driver with the Stellantis STLA AutoDrive technology platform. This allows the cars to demonstrate hands-free, door-to-door supervised automated driving in real-world conditions. The Fiat 500e and Maserati Grecale join the Jeep Grand Cherokee development vehicle shown at Stellantis' Investor Day in May.

According to Stellantis, the core AI driving foundation can be shared across different vehicles, platforms, and configurations. This enables the group to bring advanced driver-assistance technology to more brands, architectures, and customer profiles over time. The partnership aims to reduce the mental effort of everyday driving and make the experience more comfortable.

A central part of the Stellantis program is a session titled 'Technology Made for Humans', a conversation between Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa and Wayve co-founder and CEO Alex Kendall. The two will discuss the future of AI-powered mobility and how strategic partnerships can speed up the development of technology intended for deployment at scale.

The strategic partnership between Stellantis and Wayve was announced in May 2026 and initially focuses on hands-free, door-to-door supervised automated driving in highway and urban environments. The first production application is targeted for North America in 2028. However, no South African availability has been announced.

Visitors to Wave by Vento can ride in the development vehicles from October 7 to 9. The event will also feature a session moderated by Adam Jonas, global embodied AI and robotics strategist at Morgan Stanley, on October 9 at 11:20 on the Fucine Main Stage.

The partnership combines Wayve's end-to-end AI driving intelligence with Stellantis' automotive engineering and scalable vehicle platforms, while keeping safety, trust, and customer experience at the center. This approach allows the company to apply the technology in ways that preserve each brand's character.
