Spiritual Chords' Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Project has made significant progress since 2023, conducting 15 agricultural training programmes that have reached 216 participants from various communities, including Green Soldiers, Thembelihle, Lawley, Vlakfontein/Blackfontein, Orange Farm, UNISA, JOCOD and Soweto. These training programmes aim to equip community members with the skills and knowledge necessary to establish and maintain productive food gardens.
This year, Spiritual Chords is focusing on planting over 1,200 trees at identified community and educational sites. The trees include fruit trees such as lemons, oranges, avocados and apricots, as well as vegetables and herbs like spinach, cabbage, carrots, coriander and mint.
