In a demonstration of its corporate social responsibility, SONATUR, Burkina Faso's national urban land development company, has provided financial support to healthcare and education facilities in the Dogona area of Bobo-Dioulasso. On October 2, 2026, the company donated 3 million FCFA to the Centre de santé et de promotion sociale (CSPS) and the local public primary school. This initiative aims to enhance the functionality of these essential services.
The delegation, led by Minister of Construction Mikaïlou Sidibé, visited the CSPS in Dogona, where they commended the healthcare staff for their dedication. As part of the donation, SONATUR provided a 2 million FCFA cheque to support the center's operations. This contribution is part of SONATUR's efforts to equip and support local healthcare facilities, ensuring they can provide quality services to the community.
The delegation then proceeded to the local public primary school, where they laid the foundation stone for a perimeter fence, launched work on a borehole, and handed over a 1 million FCFA cheque. These projects are designed to improve the school's infrastructure and provide essential resources for the students. SONATUR's Director-General, Boureima Ouattara, emphasized that these actions align with the company's social responsibility policy.
SONATUR's support for the Dogona area is part of its broader strategy to accompany local structures and enhance the living conditions of residents. The company has previously provided equipment and educational materials to the school and healthcare center. This latest donation underscores SONATUR's commitment to contributing to the well-being of the community.
Following their visit to Dogona, the delegation toured several SONATUR construction sites in the Bindougousso neighborhood. The sites included ongoing road and sanitation works, the construction of a cemetery fence, and the development of the Cité SONATUR, a residential project featuring extensible villas known as the résidences Dafra.
The Cité SONATUR project involves the construction of 66 villas in the first phase, with a completion rate exceeding 75%. Minister Sidibé praised the workers' efforts and encouraged them to maintain the pace to ensure the quality of the works and adherence to deadlines. This residential project is part of SONATUR's larger urban development plan for Bobo-Dioulasso.
Through its social initiatives and urban development projects, SONATUR continues to play a significant role in Bobo-Dioulasso. The company's efforts focus on supporting social services and creating new housing opportunities, contributing to the city's growth and development.
