Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 50-year-old man, Kazeem Adeoye, for allegedly assaulting a woman, Morifat Oladeinde, and her daughter, Mariam. The incident occurred at Shonde in Ifo Local Council of the state. According to reports, the suspect and his wife stormed the victim's residence and assaulted her and her daughter after an altercation between his sons and the victim's children.

The altercation began when the suspect's sons, Abdullah and Ope, had a disagreement with the victim's children while returning from church on Sunday. The suspect and his wife allegedly stormed the victim's residence, leading to a verbal and physical confrontation. The victim reported that the suspect's wife struck her with a stick on the head, causing bleeding, and that her daughter sustained a visible laceration on her forehead.

The victim lodged a complaint at the Olayemi/Demokula Divisional Headquarters on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at about 4:45 p.m. The Corps' Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi. Ganzallo explained that the Divisional Officer, SC Innocent Matthew, directed a team of officers to apprehend the suspect for investigation.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he entered the victim's residence to warn her family about disputes with his sons, but the incident turned into physical assault, resulting in injuries to the victim and her daughter. The suspect claimed that his children informed him that the victim's children obstructed their path while riding their bicycle, prompting him to go to her residence to warn her to caution her children.

The Divisional Officer directed that the victim and her daughter be taken to the Government Health Centre, Lisa, for medical treatment after observing their injuries. The suspect was subsequently detained pending further investigation and the receipt of the medical report. On Monday, October 12, 2026, the case file and the suspect were handed over to the Ifo Area Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Dr. Soji Ganzallo urged members of the public to resolve disagreements peacefully and report incidents of violence promptly to the appropriate authorities. He emphasized the importance of protecting children and ensuring that allegations of violence are thoroughly investigated by the relevant authorities. The So-Safe Corps is committed to maintaining safety and security in Ogun State.

The arrest of Kazeem Adeoye and the ongoing investigation demonstrate the efforts of the So-Safe Corps to enforce the law and protect residents of Ogun State. The incident highlights the need for peaceful resolution of conflicts and the importance of reporting violent incidents to the authorities.
