The Israeli military has confirmed that six Palestinians, including a Hamas commander, were killed in airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. According to the Defense Civilian Authority, which operates under Hamas, two men were killed in a strike on the west of Gaza City. The Hamas movement identified one of the two as Izz al-Din al-Beik, a member of the General Military Council of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

The Israeli military stated that al-Beik was "eliminated in a precise airstrike" and had ordered Hamas members to carry out attacks on Israeli troops and civilians. The airstrikes also resulted in the deaths of three people and several injuries in two drone strikes in the Jabalia region. Another person was killed by Israeli fire in Deir al-Balah. The Israeli military said it would provide more information on some of the targets later.

The conflict in Gaza has resulted in a significant humanitarian crisis, with at least 74,023 martyrs and 175,111 injured, mostly women and children, since October 7, 2023, according to Palestinian health authorities. The situation is further exacerbated by the destruction of homes and infrastructure, with over 1.5 million displaced people living in makeshift tents.

The government media office in Gaza has warned of a potential humanitarian catastrophe, citing 5,147 Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, resulting in 1,421 Palestinian deaths and 4,983 injuries, as well as 198 arrests. The office accused Israel of failing to meet its commitments under the agreement and restricting the entry of aid and reconstruction materials.

The crisis has left many people in Gaza without adequate shelter, with 162,000 tents in disrepair and 255 buildings at risk of collapse. The media office reported that 270,000 tents are currently in use, with 60% of them being unusable. Thousands of people are also living in homes that are cracked and no longer meet minimum safety standards.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is further complicated by restrictions on the entry of food, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction materials. According to the government media office, only 72,826 trucks have been allowed to enter Gaza, compared to the 210,600 that should have entered under the agreement. This shortage has worsened the crisis, with many people struggling to access basic necessities.

The ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza have raised concerns about the protection of civilians and the need for an immediate ceasefire. The situation remains dire, with many people facing a harsh winter without adequate shelter or access to basic necessities.
