The second phase of the TER includes seven new bimodal trains capable of operating on both electricity and diesel. A new transport plan has been implemented to increase the frequency and regularity of the service. On the Dakar-Diamniadio axis, trains now run every 8 minutes, while between Diamniadio and AIBD, trains run every 24 minutes. To celebrate the launch of the second phase, the TER will be free of charge on the new Diamniadio-AIBD section from September 28 to October 4, 2026. This initiative allows the public to experience the new route and is part of the commercial launch of the service. The construction of a new, modern station at Sébikotane is also underway, with work expected to begin soon.
