The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for October 15, 2026, and will focus on addressing key issues affecting the education sector. The government has also pledged to expedite the implementation of decrees related to decision-making teachers and to improve access to housing for teachers.
Furthermore, the inter-ministerial council has instructed ministers responsible for Education, Technical and Vocational Training, and Higher Education to ensure that teaching and learning continue uninterrupted during the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Dakar 2026, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13. This is crucial to minimizing disruptions to the academic calendar.
The government has also announced plans to accelerate the refoundation of the curriculum for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a focus on strengthening STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and promoting scientific fields.
