The senator also criticized former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, over his promise to restore petroleum subsidy if elected in the next year's election. Adegbomire argued that the removal of subsidy was necessary for Nigeria's economic survival. He posed a question to Nigerians, asking them to choose between receiving salaries and buying cheap petrol.
Adegbomire highlighted the achievements of the current administration, citing the increase in foreign reserves from being technically bankrupt in 2023 to over $54 billion. He attributed this success to the efforts of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
