The South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) is set to make its debut at the global leadership council of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. SEGUM's President, Pastor Col. (Rtd.) Peter Nyarko Duodu, will join church leaders from around the world at the 2026 Annual Council in Silver Spring, Maryland, in the United States. This event marks a significant milestone for SEGUM, representing a new chapter in its development.

The 2026 Annual Council, themed "Called for Mission," will bring together General Conference leadership, division presidents, union presidents, and other church administrators. The event, running from October 7 to 14, will focus on the mission, administration, growth, and global direction of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. SEGUM's participation is seen as an opportunity for its leadership to join those guiding the church's work globally.

Pastor Duodu's participation goes beyond attending an international church meeting. According to the SEGUM Communications Department, it signifies a new chapter in the development of the Union Mission. He will engage in official discussions on evangelism, discipleship, and strategies for strengthening the Church's mission worldwide.

A major focus of the Annual Council will be OneVoice27: Mission for All, a global evangelistic initiative aimed at mobilizing Adventists worldwide to share the gospel. The initiative seeks to utilize local churches, individual members, the media, and digital platforms for a coordinated effort. The Annual Council programme includes dedicated sessions on OneVoice27, daily prayer preparation, and other mission-related activities.

Another key area of discussion will be Mission Refocus, an initiative aimed at strengthening the Church's focus on unreached communities and disciple-making. This forms part of the Church's broader priorities, including Communion with God, Identity in Christ, Unity through the Holy Spirit, and Mission for All. A dedicated programme on Mission Refocus is scheduled for October 9.

The Council will combine administrative business with spiritual renewal, featuring daily devotionals and prayer sessions. The "Back to the Altar" Revival Session is scheduled for October 11 to 13. On Sabbath, October 10, General Conference President Erton C. Köhler will deliver the message, "Called for Mission."

Pastor Duodu will participate alongside the President of the West-Central Africa Division, union presidents, and other leaders representing Adventist work from different regions. This participation marks a significant milestone for SEGUM and demonstrates its commitment to the global Adventist community.
