Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Ragabi has stated that relations between Saudi Arabia and Mauritania have significantly developed in various fields, particularly in the economic and investment sectors. The Saudi ambassador highlighted several developmental projects implemented by Saudi Arabia in Mauritania, including an agreement to develop the "Angakou" electricity generation station using gas, with a capacity of 230 megawatts and an investment of approximately $669 million. Additionally, a Saudi company, "Al-Rif," is executing an agricultural project on a plot of land covering around 53,000 hectares. These projects demonstrate the growing cooperation between the two nations.
According to Al-Ragabi, the Saudi Development Fund has financed over 31 development projects in Mauritania since 1979. One notable project is the King Salman bin Abdulaziz University Hospital. The ambassador's statement underscores the significant contributions of Saudi Arabia to Mauritania's development, reflecting the strong bilateral relationship.
