On October 8, 2026, Sama Mbéy organized the Petit-Déjeuner des Exploitants Agricoles in Dakar, bringing together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector. The event, presided over by Minister of Agriculture Dr. Cheikhou Oumar Bâ, recognized three women for their outstanding contributions to agriculture. The meeting aimed to foster dialogue between farmers, government officials, and partners on the challenges and opportunities in Senegalese agriculture. The discussions focused on the realities of family farming, the needs of female farmers, and the prospects for better support. The event was attended by representatives from the state, embassies, financial institutions, and private companies.

The three distinguished women, Fatou Mbodji, Khady Sow, and Binta Wane, were honored for their remarkable achievements in agriculture. Fatou Mbodji, a producer from Gatty Yaram, received the "Championne Petite Exploitante" award for her innovative approach to reinvesting agricultural revenues. Khady Sow, founder of Khady Légumes, was recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit and success in producing and marketing vegetables. Binta Wane, president of the GIE maraîcher des Femmes de Kamb, was awarded the Prix du Leadership Communautaire for her leadership and commitment to empowering women in agriculture.

The event was part of the International Year of the Farmer, highlighting the crucial role of women in agriculture. The organization's approach focuses on providing farmers with access to resources, training, and markets. By empowering women in agriculture, Sama Mbéy seeks to contribute to the country's food security and sustainable development.

Anushka Ratnayake, founder and director of myAgro, emphasized the importance of treating farmers as clients, rather than beneficiaries. She highlighted the organization's approach, which is based on consideration and economic responsibility. myAgro, operating in Senegal as Sama Mbéy, has been working with farmers in 12 regions, providing them with agricultural packages and support. The organization's impact has been significant, with farmers producing 249% more food than those in a comparison group.

Sama Mbéy's model is based on anticipation and accompaniment, providing farmers with the necessary inputs and training. The organization uses a network of Village Entrepreneurs, who play a crucial role in supporting farmers. Sama Mbéy's services extend beyond crop production, also offering support in poultry farming and agroforestry. The organization has distributed free moringa and papaya plants to farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture practices.

Sama Mbéy has introduced new digital tools to enhance its services, including Bindal Sa Bopp and Fayal Sa Bopp. These platforms enable farmers to register for the program and manage payments using QR codes and WhatsApp. According to Christophe Gondry, director of myAgro/Sama Mbéy, technology is meant to amplify, not replace, human relationships. The organization remains committed to its human-centered approach, with Village Entrepreneurs at the heart of its model.

The event provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss the needs of rural communities and the challenges they face.
