The Rwanda National Police has announced a new recruitment and training opportunity targeting young Rwandans, with a particular emphasis on graduates in science-related fields and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This initiative aims to equip the police force with technical and science-related skills. Eligible applicants will be able to register online from October 3 to October 12, 2026.
To be eligible, applicants must be Rwandan citizens aged between 18 and 23 years, have completed their secondary education, and meet other requirements set by the police. They must have no criminal conviction resulting in a prison sentence of more than six months, demonstrate good character and conduct, and must not have previously been dismissed from government employment. Additionally, applicants must be in good health and unmarried.
The police are specifically looking for candidates in science and technology fields, including Software Development, Networking and Internet Technology, Computer Systems and Architecture, and Software Programming and Embedded Systems. Applicants in these fields must have completed the required science subjects recognised by Rwanda’s higher education system and achieved a minimum score of 80 percent.
The Rwanda National Police has directed eligible candidates to use its official E-Recruitment platform to submit their applications and follow the instructions provided during the registration process. The force’s recruitment portal provides online registration, application submission, and document-upload functions for candidates. This platform is designed to streamline the application process.
For further information, the police have provided telephone contacts: 0788 311 526, 0788 311 785, and 0781 860 024. Candidates interested in the opportunity have been advised to prepare their required documents and complete their applications within the October 3–12 registration period. This is a timely opportunity for eligible candidates.
The new intake comes as Rwanda National Police continues to expand specialised training and policing capabilities, including areas such as cybercrime and other technology-related fields. Its National Police College lists specialised cybercrime courses among its professional training programmes. This focus on specialised training enhances the police force's effectiveness.
The recruitment announcement is part of the Rwanda National Police's efforts to enhance its capabilities and effectively address emerging challenges. By focusing on science and TVET graduates, the police aim to strengthen their technical capabilities. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply through the official E-Recruitment platform.
