President William Ruto says spending on Kenya’s police modernisation programme has reached Sh21 billion against a Sh30 billion allocation. Capital FM reported his remarks at a GSU recruits’ pass-out parade in Nairobi on Friday.
Ruto described investments in equipment, transport, communications and digital systems, alongside specialist training. The figures are the president’s account of the programme.
He also reported progress on police housing and expanded access to healthcare. With the 2027 election approaching, he urged officers to act professionally and avoid partisan involvement.
