Russia and Ukraine have intensified their nighttime attacks on each other's infrastructure, targeting energy and transport sectors as well as military objectives. These developments occur just days before trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, UAE, sponsored by the US, aimed at reaching an agreement to end the conflict that began in early 2022.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its forces carried out a concentrated nighttime strike targeting Ukrainian military-industrial sector facilities, as well as energy and transport infrastructure in Kyiv and its surroundings. The strikes hit the "Northern Bridge" in Kyiv, which Russia claims was used to transport weapons, military equipment, and vehicles for the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that the strikes damaged several energy facilities and industrial sites in the Kyiv region, including a power plant, a substation, and an ammunition manufacturing facility. Additionally, Russian forces struck a substation in the Zhytomyr region and a cargo ship in the Black Sea, which they claim was transporting military equipment and dual-use goods to Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and its surroundings, causing damage to energy infrastructure and a major bridge over the Dnieper River. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko described the situation as "very difficult" regarding electricity, heating, and water supplies in Kyiv, with temperatures nearing freezing.

The attacks resulted in one fatality and eight injuries, including a child, and caused damage to homes and non-residential buildings. Ukrainian authorities reported that energy facilities in at least three regions of Kyiv were targeted. Russia has escalated its aerial attacks on Ukraine, focusing on energy infrastructure in major cities with difficult-to-intercept missiles and drones.

Ukrainian drone and missile attacks also targeted several Russian regions, causing minor damage but no casualties, according to Russian authorities. A nighttime attack in Oryol region hit commercial warehouses and production facilities, sparking a fire that was later extinguished.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense units destroyed 411 Ukrainian drones overnight across more than ten Russian regions. These developments occur ahead of a meeting between Russia, Ukraine, and US-sponsored talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, as efforts continue to reach an agreement to end the conflict.
