Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced plans to equip 41 of its aircraft with Starlink, a high-speed internet solution developed by SpaceX. This move makes RAM the first African airline to offer ultra-fast and uninterrupted internet connectivity on its flights. The deployment of Starlink will begin in early 2027 and will be rolled out progressively across the fleet to ensure optimal operational continuity.

Once the system is installed, passengers on Royal Air Maroc flights will have access to high-speed internet, allowing them to stream content, communicate, work in real-time, and stay connected throughout their journey. The airline's president and CEO, Hamid Addou, emphasized that this development reflects the company's ambition to offer passengers an experience that meets the highest international standards.

The introduction of Starlink Wi-Fi is part of Royal Air Maroc's multi-year plan to revamp its customer experience, which includes fleet renewal, cabin refurbishment, and modernization of its services both on the ground and in the air. According to Hamid Addou, choosing the fastest Wi-Fi in the skies marks a significant step in transforming the airline's customer experience and reaffirming its commitment to connecting Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world with the highest level of excellence.

Lauren Dreyer, vice president of commercial operations at Starlink, SpaceX, noted that Royal Air Maroc's decision to introduce Starlink on its flights marks a significant milestone for aviation in Africa. She added that passengers will benefit from the same high-speed and low-latency experience that is already transforming travel on other continents.

The introduction of in-flight connectivity is a key component of Royal Air Maroc's customer experience strategy. The airline aims to meet the growing demand for continuous connectivity from a diverse range of customers, including business travelers, members of the diaspora, students, and tourists. With Starlink, Royal Air Maroc is consolidating its position as a pioneer and driver of innovation in African aviation.

By offering next-generation connectivity, Royal Air Maroc is contributing to the development of a more modern, competitive, and excellence-driven African aviation industry. The airline's investment in Starlink Wi-Fi underscores its commitment to providing passengers with an enhanced travel experience that meets the highest international standards.

The partnership between Royal Air Maroc and Starlink is set to revolutionize the in-flight experience for passengers. With 41 aircraft to be equipped with the technology, the airline is poised to become a leader in in-flight connectivity in Africa.
