Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has introduced its fifth weekly frequency between Sao Paulo and Casablanca, marking a significant milestone in its expansion plans. The new service, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, responds to growing demand and anticipates the start of the European winter season. This move is part of RAM's strategy to strengthen its presence in Brazil and offer increased connectivity to over 100 destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The Sao Paulo-Casablanca route has seen impressive performance, with approximately 80,000 passengers traveling in both directions in 2025. The route has achieved an average load factor of 84% and a punctuality rate of 98%. RAM's director for South America, Othman Baba, emphasized that increasing flights will facilitate travel to Morocco and connections to the rest of the world through Casablanca.

RAM aims to operate daily flights from Sao Paulo by 2028 and plans to launch a new route to Rio de Janeiro by the end of 2027. This expansion aligns with the airline's global growth plan and its goal of becoming a major international carrier. The airline's strategic plan for 2023-2037 includes increasing its fleet to 200 aircraft and transporting 32 million passengers annually.

The growth of RAM's services to Brazil coincides with the country's increasing tourism industry. In 2025, Brazil saw a 35% increase in visitors to Morocco, with 60,000 Brazilian tourists traveling to the country. Morocco itself welcomed a record 19.8 million international tourists in 2025.

RAM's expansion plans are also supported by Morocco's infrastructure development projects, including those related to the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal. The airline's growth strategy includes a commitment to sustainability, demonstrated by its first flight powered by sustainable aviation fuel in 2025.

The airline's schedule has been adjusted to meet growing demand, with flights from Sao Paulo now operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights from Casablanca operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

RAM, a member of the oneworld alliance and rated four stars by Skytrax, is undergoing a significant expansion phase. The airline aims to close 2026 with 9.3 million passengers and a revenue of over 25 billion MAD.
