The Rotary Club of Eko Signature has formally installed its Charter President, Rotarian Davina Ogbue, in Lagos, with a clear agenda to drive sustainable community development through corporate partnerships and professional networks. The installation ceremony brought together business leaders, government representatives, and club officials who reiterated their commitment to humanitarian service. Ogbue emphasized that leadership in Rotary is a call to action, rather than prestige.

According to Ogbue, the club aims to create a distinct space where the energy, talents, and minds of the next generation can be channeled into sustainable life-changing service. The club began with 20 charter members and has already secured corporate sponsorships for its first projects. Ogbue disclosed that the club's EcoHealth programs are designed to integrate human health, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.

One of the club's first initiatives is the rehabilitation of sewage and toilet facilities at Victoria Island Secondary School, which was fully funded by Jemma Tan Nigeria Limited. This project is part of the club's broader strategy to leverage professional networks and affiliations, and to utilize corporate synergy to drive community development. The club also plans to invest in maternal and child health at Igboefon Primary Health Center.

In addition to sanitation and healthcare, the Rotary Club of Eko Signature plans to implement empowerment programs for individuals and families, as well as waste management initiatives tied to recycling agencies. Ogbue asserted that empowering one person is to empower a whole family and several generations, noting that funds are being mobilized to execute key projects.

Guest speaker and past district governor, Rotarian Kola Sodipo, explained that the club's strength lies in pooling resources from members and corporate partners to deliver impactful projects worldwide. He emphasized that true impact does not happen when the club does everything for the community, but when it equips them with the skills, knowledge, and resources to do it for themselves.

Sodipo hinted at the club's future plans, which include sponsoring children's education and partnering with foundations focused on the girl child. He called for support from the public, encouraging them to choose one project, make a commitment, and remember that no amount is too small to give. The club's commitment to community development and corporate synergy has generated optimism among stakeholders.

The Rotary Club of Eko Signature's agenda for community growth and development is clear, with a focus on leveraging corporate partnerships and professional networks to drive sustainable impact. With its charter president installed and a clear strategy in place, the club is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities in Nigeria.
