In Morocco's Al Haouz province, authorities have successfully reopened several roads and tracks that were closed due to severe weather conditions. The province experienced intense rainfall and storms since Friday evening, causing disruptions to traffic on various routes. According to local authorities, the intensive mobilization of provincial authorities, equipment services, and territorial collectives enabled the reopening of affected roads and tracks.

The exceptional rainfall led to a significant increase in water flow in several rivers and oueds, causing traffic disruptions on main roads and tracks. Several rural tracks were reopened in the douars of Aït Cham El-Houa, Amertou, and Assaka, in the commune of Iguerferouane. This allowed for a return to normalcy thanks to the mobilization of necessary logistical means and human resources.

The national road (RN) n°7, connecting Marrakech to Taroudant, has also been reopened after interventions in the douar Marguen, the Tibidart section, and the chaâba Ighzer Noumzil. Additional operations were carried out to reopen the provincial road (RP) n°2017, which was closed due to rockfalls and landslides. Traffic has been restored under secure conditions and continuous surveillance.

Authorities also intervened to clear rockfalls on the RP n°2009, near the oued El Bahja, after debris was evacuated. Work is ongoing to clear lands and rocks on the RP n°2030, connecting the communes of Asni and Imlil. These operations are part of a series of continuous actions by provincial authorities to reopen closed roads and tracks and ensure safe traffic.

Provincial authorities and concerned services are continuing to monitor the situation on the ground, urging road users to be vigilant and organizing traffic to prevent incidents and preserve citizen safety, particularly in difficult weather conditions. The authorities are working to secure roads and prevent potential consequences of severe weather.

The situation in Al Haouz province is being closely monitored, with authorities working to address any remaining disruptions. The region has experienced significant rainfall, leading to an increased risk of landslides and flash flooding. Residents and travelers are advised to exercise caution when using roads and tracks in the area.

The efforts of provincial authorities, equipment services, and territorial collectives have helped to restore normalcy to the region. The reopening of roads and tracks has improved access to rural areas, allowing residents to resume their daily activities. Authorities will continue to work to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent potential incidents.
