Mrs. Justina Emeji, the lawmaker representing Emohua State Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly, disclosed that she received funding for constituency projects during the emergency rule declared in the state. She made this revelation during the inauguration of one of her constituency projects, Echonwere Royal Hall in Okporowo Ogbakiri Clan in the Emohua Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. Emeji commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, for their efforts in ensuring the development of the state.

Emeji explained that the funding was released during the emergency rule and was used to initiate projects in her constituency. She stated that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule, had asked her to utilize the funds to execute projects that would benefit her people. As a result, Emeji initiated several projects, including the construction of the Echonwere Royal Hall, which was inaugurated. The lawmaker expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the release of the funds, which enabled her to implement projects in her constituency.

In addition to the Echonwere Royal Hall, Emeji disclosed that she has seven other ongoing constituency projects across the 14 wards of the Emohua LGA. These projects include a lodge for corps members at Oduoha Ogbakiri, a market at Isiodu Emohua, six classroom blocks at Ibaa Community, teachers’ quarters at Akpabu, six classroom blocks at Egbeda, and another six classroom blocks at Ovogo community. The lawmaker emphasized that these projects would have a positive impact on the lives of her constituents.

Emeji also empowered 150 persons from the 14 wards of the LGA with N30million as an empowerment fund. This initiative aims to support the economic well-being of her constituents. The lawmaker's efforts to improve the lives of her people have been acknowledged by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule, who hailed her as a dependable member of the 10th Assembly.

Speaker Amaewhule commended Emeji for her effective representation of her constituents, noting that she has not failed her people. He emphasized that representation is a core mandate of a legislator, involving identifying the needs and aspirations of constituents and working with government to actualize them. Amaewhule expressed confidence that the state would witness a harvest of constituency projects across all constituencies before the 2027 general election.

According to Amaewhule, Emeji's proactive approach to constituency projects is a testament to her commitment to serving her people. He noted that the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly has members who are representing their people effectively and delivering on their mandates. The Speaker's endorsement of Emeji's efforts underscores the importance of effective representation in the state's legislative body.
