LanjiZ Management Consultants is recruiting a Risk and Compliance Manager for a client in Zambia's financial services sector. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring a strong culture of integrity and risk awareness. The Risk and Compliance Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks. This includes maintaining the corporate risk register and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). The manager will ensure compliance with Bank of Zambia requirements and other applicable laws and regulations. Developing and reviewing risk management and compliance policies is also a key responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related discipline. A relevant professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAZ, or an equivalent certification is an added advantage. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, or Financial Services, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Experience in a regulated financial institution or microfinance environment is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Risk Management, excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills. High ethical standards, integrity, and sound professional judgment are essential for this role. The Risk and Compliance Manager will lead the Risk and Compliance function as the organization grows.
Key responsibilities include coordinating compliance monitoring reviews across branches and departments, developing and implementing fraud prevention and fraud risk management initiatives, and coordinating investigations into significant compliance and fraud incidents. The manager will also develop and maintain Business Continuity and Operational Resilience plans and prepare risk and compliance reports for Senior Management and the Board.
The Risk and Compliance Manager will provide risk and compliance advice on new products and business initiatives and promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and risk awareness. The manager will be responsible for building and leading the Risk and Compliance function as the organization grows. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and relationship management.
