Residents of the Dziret area in Bousalem, Tunisia, are facing significant challenges due to poor road conditions and rural pathways, particularly during the winter season. The local population, including students, are struggling with transportation difficulties. These issues are further complicated by the lack of connection to the sanitation network. According to Amira Kliboussi, a member of the regional council of Jendouba, the situation is dire and requires immediate attention.

The problems faced by the residents of Dziret are not isolated, as the region of Jendouba is experiencing various development challenges. Recently, it was announced that the experience of remote medical imaging of the breast will be extended to six governorates, including Jendouba, Bاجة, and Silyanah by the end of 2026. This move aims to improve healthcare services in the region.

In preparation for the rainy season, interventions are underway at several points in Silyanah, with a progress rate of nearly 85%. These efforts aim to mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall and ensure the safety of residents. Meanwhile, in Bاجة, the project to clean the Medjerda wadi has made significant progress, with a completion rate of over 30%.

The region of Jendouba is also set to benefit from initiatives aimed at promoting the export of handicraft products and small and medium-sized enterprises through the postal network. A day of awareness was organized on October 14, 2026, in El Kef to introduce this program, which seeks to support local economic development.

The poor infrastructure and environmental conditions in Dziret and other parts of Jendouba highlight the need for sustained investment in regional development. The local authorities and residents are calling for urgent action to address these pressing issues, which affect the quality of life and access to basic services.

Amira Kliboussi, as a representative of the regional council, is advocating for the needs of the residents of Dziret and the broader region. Her efforts aim to bring attention to the challenges faced by the local population and to push for the implementation of solutions to improve their living conditions.

The situation in Dziret and the initiatives underway in Jendouba and surrounding regions underscore the complexities of regional development in Tunisia. Addressing these challenges will require coordinated efforts from local authorities, residents, and stakeholders to ensure sustainable and equitable growth.
