Remita, a leading payment services company in Nigeria, has launched a new mobile app that brings multiple bank accounts, payments, and personal money-management tools together in one place. The app, unveiled at Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 in Lagos, allows users to transfer funds, pay bills, buy airtime and data, set recurring payments, track expenses, and manage their finances without having to switch between different platforms. This new direction for Remita marks a significant shift from its traditional focus on providing payment services to businesses, government, and institutions.

The Remita App is designed to reduce the need for individuals to move between multiple applications for everyday financial activities. According to Adedayo Adewale, Head of Consumer and Retail Business at Remita, the app was developed in response to the challenges of fragmented financial services in Nigeria. Users can connect multiple bank accounts and carry out everyday transactions, including transfers, airtime and data purchases, electricity and other bill payments, government and merchant payments, as well as recurring payments.

The app also provides tools for budgeting, expense tracking, and managing personal finances. Additionally, it extends Remita's reach beyond domestic transactions through cross-border payment capabilities across Africa. Through its partnership with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), users can debit their local bank accounts and transfer funds to accounts in other participating African countries directly from the Remita App.

DeRemi Atanda, Managing Director/CEO of Remita Payment Services Limited, stated that the company is bringing its 20-year experience in helping businesses, government, and institutions make payments directly to consumers. The app gives users one place to manage more of their everyday financial activities, marking the next phase of Remita's growth. Atanda emphasized that the company plans to continue adding financial services and capabilities to the app.

The launch of the Remita App responds to the way many consumers currently manage their finances across different banks and financial platforms. With the app, users can manage their finances without having to switch between different platforms. Remita's move into the consumer market builds on its more than two decades of experience supporting payments for organisations and institutions, processing over ₦100 trillion in transactions annually.

Atanda highlighted that the next stage of payments involves extending the infrastructure that supports financial activity beyond domestic transactions and into wider African markets. He emphasized the importance of technology, regulation, and cooperation in driving cross-border payments funded from local bank accounts. The company will continue to expand the app through its banking and financial partners, adding new capabilities and services as its consumer offering develops.

The company expects significant adoption of the app in the months ahead, driven by its user-friendly interface and comprehensive financial services. Remita was also a sponsor of Nigeria Fintech Week 2026, providing a platform for the company to engage with players across Nigeria's financial technology industry while unveiling its new consumer product. The app is available for download, and users can start managing their finances in one place.
