American aerospace company Pursuit Aerospace plans to expand its factory in Tunis, Tunisia, by 40%. The expansion, set to be completed in the second half of 2027, will increase the factory's employment to over 1000 people, up from a few hundred currently. The project was announced by Pursuit Aerospace in a statement detailing its intention to strengthen its global aerospace foundry capabilities.

Construction on the expansion began on September 3, with the addition of a third building to complement the existing facilities. Once completed, the Tunis site will cover over 13,000 square meters. The new building will enable increased production capacity with the installation of additional furnaces and extension of mold manufacturing lines. This aims to meet growing order volumes and ensure sufficient capacity for new production requirements.

Pursuit Aerospace specializes in producing precision components for aircraft engines, primarily made from nickel and cobalt alloys. These components are produced using the lost-wax casting process, allowing for the creation of complex pieces that meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry. The company has been present in Tunisia since September 2000, with operations spread across two sites: Mégrine and the industrial zone Mghira 3 in Fouchana.

The expansion project involves introducing additional post-founding machining processes and specialized industrial treatments. These operations will be carried out directly at the Tunisian site as part of Pursuit Aerospace's vertical integration strategy. This aims to integrate more production steps into its industrial operations, increasing production volumes and taking on a larger share of the aerospace component manufacturing process.

The investment amount for the expansion has not been disclosed. Pursuit Aerospace's global annual revenue stands at $678.9 million as of 2026. The company, based in Manchester, Connecticut, currently employs 774 people worldwide. The expansion is expected to enable the company to serve its existing clients better while creating opportunities for new orders.

According to the Tunisian Grouping of Aerospace Industries (GITAS), Pursuit Aerospace's activities in Tunisia include foundry, machining, and precision engineering operations. The company's Tunisian site will benefit from the expansion, allowing it to take on more significant responsibilities in the production process.

The expansion project is expected to enhance Pursuit Aerospace's capabilities in meeting the growing demand for aerospace components. With the increased production capacity and additional personnel, the company aims to solidify its position in the global aerospace industry.
