A high-profile turbaning ceremony is set to take place at the Imodi-Ijebu Muslim Community on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event, scheduled to start at 10 am, will feature prominent Nigerians being honoured with various chieftaincy titles. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, will be the Chief Launcher, while Alhaji Engr. Abdul Waheed Yusuf will serve as the Co-Launcher. The ceremony will take place at the Titilayo Agbaje Memorial Comprehensive High School in Imodi-Ijebu, Ogun State.
The list of dignitaries expected to attend the event includes Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, National Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh AbdurRahman Ahmad, and Grand Mufti of the Conference of Islamic Organisations, Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafi’i. Other notable attendees include former Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan, and the Ogun State APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa Balogun.
The event will also feature a N1 billion fundraising drive aimed at supporting education and empowerment initiatives. The Chairman of the Day will be Alhaji (Dr) Najeemdeen Usman Yasin, while the Royal Father of the Day will be High Chief Musibau Adewale Okusajo, the Olumodi of Imodi. Other distinguished guests include Alhaji G.O. Mustapha, Alhaji Ogunwo Daud Owolabi, and Alhaji Sikiru Alabi Macfoy.
Several individuals will be honoured with chieftaincy titles during the ceremony. Dr Chief Abdulfattah Owolabi Olufowobi, former Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, will receive the Baba Adeen of Imodi-Ijebu title. Alhaji Tajudeen Adegboyega Adebanjo, Senior Correspondent with The Nation Newspaper, will be awarded the Giwa Adeen of Imodi-Ijebu title, while Alhaji Ishaq Sanni, retired Director of Procurement at NAHCON, will be honoured as Aare Adeen of Imodi-Ijebu.
The Guest Speaker at the ceremony will be Sheikh AbdurRahman Ahmad, National Minister of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Alhaji Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan and Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafi’i. The Chief Imam of Imodi Central, Fadhilat Sheikh Mos’ud Akorede Titilope Raheem, will host the event.
Other notable attendees include Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, President of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, and Mr Modupe Kadri, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of MTN Nigeria. The Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, will also be in attendance.
