President William Ruto commenced an eight-day tour of the coastal region, starting in Taita-Taveta County. He announced that the government would invest Sh2 billion in the Affordable Housing Programme to construct hostels for 5,000 students from universities, technical colleges, and the Kenya Medical Training College. The President laid the foundation stone for Sh145 million student hostels at Wumingu Technical and Vocational College and promised to provide 340 beds.

President Ruto's tour will also feature the groundbreaking of the new refinery in Lamu, a project valued at Sh2 trillion, in partnership with the Dangote Group. Mombasa County will see the issuance of 4,360 title deeds, while 22,770 title deeds will be distributed in Lamu and Tana River counties.
