President John Dramani Mahama has expressed government's sympathy to victims of the Hohoe flood and assured them of livelihood support. Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, Prosper Kumi, reported that aside from the Zongo community, six other communities along the river line were affected. A total of 5,336 households were individually affected, as well as three critical bridges. Kumi appealed for support and noted that relief items were being received and distributed to victims. The Paramount Chief of the Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu VII, thanked President Mahama for his visit.
Alhaji Muhammed Tajudeen Mairiga, Sarkin Zongo, on behalf of the victims, thanked President Mahama for the gesture. The relief items donated from the Presidency included food, clothing, and other essential items. Other donations were received from MTN Ghana Foundation, Volta Regional Caucus of Members of Parliament, and a promise of 5,000 bags of branded Dzata cement.
