President John Dramani Mahama has begun a two-day visit to the Ahafo Region, inspecting ongoing development projects and commissioning new infrastructure. On the first day, he visited healthcare facilities, agricultural projects, and road infrastructure, highlighting the government's focus on improving public services, food security, and economic growth. The President's engagements covered various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, security, and road development.

In the healthcare sector, President Mahama inspected nearly completed Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Ashiayem and Nsuapimkrom in the Tano North Municipality. The President noted that increased funding for District Assemblies was enabling them to provide essential infrastructure for their communities. The Ashiayem CHPS compound is expected to be registered by the Ghana Health Service under the Free Primary Healthcare programme.

President Mahama also commissioned the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) regional office in Goaso, the Ahafo regional capital. The new office is part of efforts to strengthen the agency's operational presence in the region. This move is expected to enhance security and support economic growth in the area.

The President inspected ongoing construction works on a 24-unit solar-powered mechanised borehole irrigation system at Dantano in the Asunafo South District. The project, developed under the Feed Ghana Programme, aims to support vegetable production, enhance food security, and provide raw materials for agro-industries. Similar facilities are being developed in other areas, including Tanoso, Norbekaw, Kwapong, Asankore, and Asibrim.

President Mahama visited the Poultry, Meat and Feed Processing Factory at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality, which is 58 per cent complete. The facility is expected to boost domestic poultry production, create employment opportunities, and reduce Ghana's reliance on imported chicken. The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, reported that domestic poultry production had increased from four per cent to 22 per cent following the implementation of the Nkoko Nkitinkiti initiative.

The President's itinerary also included inspections of key road infrastructure projects, including the Tepa–Goaso Road and the Ntontroso Bridge. These projects, executed under the government's Big Push Programme, aim to improve connectivity, facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce, and enhance access between communities. The projects are expected to support economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents.

The two-day Resetting Ghana Tour is intended to enable the President to assess ongoing development projects and engage stakeholders on development priorities in the Ahafo Region. The tour provides an opportunity for the President to interact with local communities, address their concerns, and outline the government's vision for the region's development.
