Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has praised Kasapreko PLC as a model for local businesses, encouraging entrepreneurs to expand production, invest in new industries, and create jobs for the youth. During a visit to Kasapreko's production facility, he commended the company's growth, international market expansion, and successful listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange. The President noted that Kasapreko's development demonstrated the capacity of Ghanaian-owned businesses to compete internationally and sustain growth across generations.
President Mahama recalled visiting Kasapreko 11 years ago for the inauguration of its third production line, noting that the company had since expanded to eight production lines at the facility. He expressed optimism about the new factory under construction at Adeiso, which will create additional employment opportunities when completed. The President encouraged Kasapreko to continue expanding its operations and exploring new markets across Africa and beyond.
President Mahama called on Ghanaian entrepreneurs to take advantage of the economic environment to invest in manufacturing and expand their businesses. He stated that the government was pursuing fiscal discipline and policies aimed at creating space for the private sector to grow. A relatively stable cedi and declining interest rates were helping to improve conditions for business investment.
The President noted that high government borrowing had previously constrained private-sector access to credit, but said the current environment presented opportunities for businesses to secure financing and expand production. He cited an increase in foreign direct investment from $624 million in 2024 to $2.62 billion in 2025, urging Ghanaian investors to demonstrate similar confidence in the economy.
President Mahama commended Kasapreko for exporting its products to several international markets, including the United States and South Africa, and noted the popularity of its Alomo Bitters brand in parts of East Africa. He welcomed the company's diversification into products such as bottled water in glass containers and Freedom Beer, describing product expansion as an opportunity to increase market share.
President Mahama said Kasapreko offered an important example of how Ghanaian businesses could sustain operations beyond their founders. He observed that some locally established companies struggled to survive when their founders retired or passed away, but commended Kasapreko for maintaining its operations under a new generation of leadership following the retirement of its founder, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
The President urged other Ghanaian businesses to develop succession plans that would enable future generations to sustain and expand their enterprises. By doing so, he said, local businesses could ensure long-term growth and contribute to the country's economic development. Kasapreko's success story served as a model for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to emulate.
