The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command, has sealed a fake wine factory in the Badagry area of Lagos, following credible intelligence from members of the public. The factory, located at Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State, was discovered to be producing adulterated alcoholic drinks, including Flamingo De Brandy and others. The operation led to the arrest of 48-year-old Anaebo Emeka Hilary, who was taken into police custody.
During the operation, police operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels, and various production utensils suspected to have been used in the production and packaging of the drinks. The recovered items have been taken to the station for further investigation. The factory was subsequently sealed, and the suspect is currently facing investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information. He reaffirmed the Command's commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against criminal activities across the state. Fatai also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the Police through its emergency lines.
This operation comes days after the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) discovered a fake fruit juice factory in Talabi Onilegbale Street, Aradagun, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Badagry, Lagos. The NSCDC's discovery and subsequent seizure of the fake fruit juice factory demonstrate the ongoing efforts of security agencies to combat counterfeit and adulterated products in the state.
In a separate incident, the Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy, Usman Dauda, for defiling a 3-year-old girl in Saki. The arrest followed a distress report lodged at the Saki Divisional Station on September 17, 2026, after the child went missing while being retrieved from school. A search led to her recovery along the roadside in a state of distress.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the suspect had forcefully taken the child into his apartment to commit the heinous act. Detectives visited and secured the scene of the crime, resulting in the immediate arrest of the suspect and the recovery of critical physical evidence linked to the offense. The young survivor was promptly rushed to a medical facility in Saki for treatment and care.
The Oyo State Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to safety and urged members of the public to remain vigilant by promptly reporting any acts of violence against children or vulnerable persons to the nearest police facility. The case has been transferred to the Gender Desk, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, for investigation and prosecution.
