The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 49-year-old suspected drug dealer, Prince Chukwudi Eguzouwa, in Ahiabubi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Council of the state. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, Eguzouwa was taken into custody on September 18, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation by operatives of the Violent Response Unit and Anti-Cultism Unit. The operation was conducted based on actionable intelligence and directives from the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi.
The police recovered large quantities of illicit substances from Eguzouwa's hideout, including bags suspected to contain Cannabis sativa, “Scottish Loud,” methamphetamine, cocaine, and other hard drugs. The PPRO stated that Eguzouwa was allegedly known within the community for his involvement in drug-related activities. The police have been working to identify and dismantle criminal hideouts across the state as part of their efforts to curb crime.
Following the conclusion of investigations, Eguzouwa was arraigned in court on September 22 and remanded in a correctional facility.
