Play it Forward Zambia (PFZ), a non-profit organization that uses sports as a platform to create opportunities for young people, is seeking a skilled Communications & Fundraising Officer to join its team in Livingstone, Zambia. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing PFZ's work to life through compelling stories, photography, video, and digital communications. They will also support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, and partnerships. PFZ works with over 1,500 young people each year through initiatives including education, health and wellbeing, digital skills, mentoring, employment support, and football.
The Communications & Fundraising Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering an engaging social media content calendar, capturing stories, photographs, and videos from PFZ's programs and football activities, and creating content for various social media platforms. They will also write and edit newsletters, website stories, and supporter communications, and work closely with PFZ's Football Media Officer to coordinate content and share stories and creative assets. The officer will maintain a library of photographs, videos, testimonials, and case studies, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across PFZ's communications.
In terms of fundraising, the Communications & Fundraising Officer will support the development and delivery of fundraising campaigns and appeals, create engaging fundraising content, stories, and campaign updates, and support donor communications. They will also help collect stories, photographs, and information for funding applications and reports, identify local fundraising, corporate, and partnership opportunities, and develop creative ideas for fundraising and raising PFZ's profile. The officer will support the organization of fundraising events and supporter activities.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative and confident communicator with a passion for storytelling, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and great writing, editing, and storytelling skills. They will have creative photography and videography skills, experience creating content for social media, and be proficient in Canva or similar design software. The candidate will be able to work independently, have strong organizational skills, and be confident working with young people, staff, supporters, and partners.
