Dr. Wole Oluyede, the PDP governorship candidate in Ekiti State, has launched a mobilization drive for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. Oluyede, who was the runner-up in the June 20 governorship election, aims to demonstrate Tinubu's substantial support across political divides in Ekiti. He formed the Oluyede Progressives Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda to galvanize support for Tinubu's re-election. The alliance will embark on a grassroots mobilization campaign across the 16 local government areas of the state.

Oluyede's mobilization drive involves canvassers going door-to-door to campaign for Tinubu and stand by him on election day. He expressed confidence that the alliance will secure an overwhelming victory for Tinubu in Ekiti, targeting 90% of the votes. The PDP chieftain assured Governor Biodun Oyebanji that his supporters will work tirelessly to ensure Tinubu's victory. Oluyede also appealed to Tinubu to prioritize Ekiti's development in return for the support.

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, commended Oluyede's decision to mobilize support for Tinubu, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to peace and the state's development. Oyebanji noted that the political alliance is significant, as it shows that political differences should not undermine the collective interest of Ekiti people. He recalled that during the struggle for Ekiti's creation, the founding fathers emphasized unity among the people, irrespective of political, religious, or other differences.

Governor Oyebanji urged APC and PDP members supporting Tinubu to work together at the ward and local government levels. He emphasized that Tinubu's re-election is critical to Ekiti's continued development, citing federal projects and support that have positively impacted the state. Oyebanji also advised APC members to cooperate with Oluyede-led alliance members and avoid unnecessary rivalry at the grassroots.

The governor encouraged supporters of the alliance to mobilize voters at the grassroots, stressing that the campaign's success depends on their ability to bring supporters to the polling units on election day. Oyebanji added that the alliance indicates that political leaders can put aside personal ambitions and differences when the broader interests of the people are at stake.

Oluyede's decision to support Tinubu despite being from the PDP has been seen as a significant move, demonstrating that politicians can put aside partisan differences for the state's interest. The alliance between Oluyede and Oyebanji serves as an example to politicians in the state on the importance of cooperation, peace, and putting the people's interest above partisan considerations.

The mobilization drive is expected to contribute to Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, with Ekiti State being a crucial battleground. The state's support will be essential for Tinubu's victory, and the alliance between Oluyede and Oyebanji is expected to play a significant role in securing that support.
