Kenya Power has announced that it will undertake planned power maintenance in various parts of the country on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The maintenance, which is aimed at ensuring a stable power supply, will affect several areas in Nairobi, Kisumu, and other counties. The power utility company has apologized for any inconvenience that may be caused by the planned interruptions.
In Nairobi, areas around Mbaazi Avenue and Hatheru Road will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include part of Naivasha Road, part of Riara Road, Riara Close, the whole of Hatheru Road, Kingara Road, Kingara Close, part of Gitanga Road, Amboseli Road, part of Mbaazi Road, Mbaazi Close, Merlin Court, Naivas Mbaazi Avenue, EBRU TV, and part of James Gichuru Road and adjacent customers.
Areas around Githunguri Road and Laikipia Road in Nairobi will also be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas are Githunguri Road, Laikipia Road, Migori Road, Tabere Crescent, Kasuku Centre, part of Oloitoktok Road, part of Ring Road Westlands, Killeleshwa Police and adjacent customers.
In Kisumu County, residents and businesses in Miguye will experience the longest interruption listed for the day, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas are Miguye Primary and Miguye Village, as well as adjacent customers. Huma will also experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Huma Girls, Arude School, Marera and adjacent customers.
Other areas affected by the power outage include Samburu and Nyandarua counties, where areas around Kinamba, Sipili and Oljabet will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The areas include Ol Moran, AAA Growers, Mwanzi Farm, Mochongoi, Kabel, Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Marmar, Kisima, Maralal Township, Maralal Water Supply, Poro Radar Station, Loosuk, Credible Blooms, Thome Shopping Centre and Rumuruti, among adjacent customers.
In Uasin Gishu County, Sirikwa and Cicada will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering Sirikwa Hotel, Cicada, AP Line, Zion Mall, MUSCO Towers and Eastern Avenue. Kipsinende, Kipkorogot and Naiber will also experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Kipsinende, Plateau, Naiberi, Carbacid, Abra School, Kosachei, Maanzini, Waitaluk, Kapkong and Tumaini.
The power outages will also affect Kisii County, where Keroka and Rianyoka will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected locations include Keroka Hill-Top Hotel, St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls, St James Ichuni Secondary School, Keroka Technical Training College, Nyanturago Secondary School, Nyamasibi Market, Masisi Secondary School, Hotel ya Abuga, Matibo Secondary School, Hema Chitago Secondary School and Nyamagesa Secondary School.
