The partial diversion of traffic at the southern entrance to the Tunisian capital, Tunis, continues until Tuesday, November 3. This diversion is in place to complete the demolition work on the Lakania bridge, according to the Ministry of Equipment and Housing. The ministry announced that 100% of the demolition work has been completed in the direction of Hammamet and around 75% in the direction of Tunis.

The Ministry of Equipment and Housing has provided alternative routes for drivers coming from the city center towards the southern suburbs and Hammamet. They are advised to take the San Gobain road towards Mrezig, then the Mrezig-Ryadh bridge, followed by the National Road 1 towards Ben Arous, and finally the Bir El Kassia interchange. For those heading to the city center, they can take the Bir El Kassia interchange and National Road 1, then the Mrezig-Ryadh bridge and San Gobain road towards Tunis.

Additional alternative routes have been suggested by the ministry. Drivers can take the National Road 1, entering from the Radès stadium exit, then the New City and Chousha Radès intersections, towards the Radès-Halq El Wad bridge, and from there to the city center or northern suburbs. Another option is to take the Lakania bridge and Wardia 1 and Wardia 2 intersections towards Bab Alioua square, then the Révillon bridge and Rue de la République, and finally Rue du Maghreb Arabe (Z4 road).

The Ministry of Equipment and Housing has urged drivers to respect traffic signs and markings, and to exercise caution and reduce speed when approaching work zones. The Lakania bridge demolition work is scheduled to be completed on November 3. The ministry has been working to upgrade infrastructure in the region.
