A parking fee dispute in Mombasa's Shimanzi area turned fatal on October 4, 2026, when a 40-year-old parking attendant, Evans Odhiambo, was allegedly overpowered and fatally injured during a fight with a fellow attendant. The incident occurred at around 12:10 am in the Kianjaro area. According to police and witnesses, the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, resulting in Odhiambo's death.

The dispute was over the payment of a parking fee for a trailer. The suspect, who has not been identified, reportedly fled the scene after the incident. Police officers from Makupa Police Station and DCI Urban visited and processed the scene. The deceased's body was found with no visible injuries and was transferred to the Coast General Hospital Mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy.

In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man, Ezekiel Andayi Ateko, was found stabbed to death inside his house in Essumba Village, Emmabwi Sub-Location, Ebukanga Location in Emuhaya, Vihiga county. The deceased was discovered dead on Saturday evening, October 3, 2026, after members of the public alerted police about a suspected murder. According to officers, Andayi had stab wounds to his stomach and intestines.

The wife of the deceased told police that her husband had returned home at around 4 pm complaining that unidentified people were following him with the intention of harming him. She subsequently left the house to go to the river and returned at around 6 pm, only to find her husband lying dead. Police processed the scene before removing the body to Coptic Hospital Mortuary.

Another incident occurred in Nairobi's Dandora area, where a 25-year-old man, Refoum Ouma, died after being allegedly stabbed in the chest with a sharp object and dumped in a sewage trench near Ronald Ngala Primary School. Ouma's brother rushed him to Brother Andre Hospital, where officers found him receiving first aid. He was subsequently referred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for further treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the motive for the killing and the identity of the perpetrator had not yet been established. Investigations have commenced as officers work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing. The incidents have raised concerns about the increasing cases of violence and murder in different parts of the country.

The police have launched investigations into the incidents and efforts to trace and arrest the suspects are underway. The incidents have left the families and communities in shock, and the police are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
