A free health and medical clinic was held on October 4 at the Phoenix Community Centre in South Africa, drawing over 400 attendees from Phoenix and surrounding communities. The event offered a wide range of free medical, health, and wellness services. This was the fourth wellness clinic held this year, following a successful event in July that also drew a large crowd. The clinic provided residents of all ages with basic health checks, professional advice, screenings, and referrals without any financial burden. Services offered included medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, eye testing, physiotherapy assessments, and health promotion. Professor Noddy Jinabhai, chairperson of the Phoenix Community Centre, expressed gratitude to the numerous healthcare professionals, organisations, and service providers who contributed to the clinic's success.

Special thanks were extended to Sagree Arunachellam of the Phoenix Wellness Clinic and the North Durban Practitioners Guild for her excellent coordination of the clinic. The organisers aimed to create an environment where people felt supported and could take proactive steps towards better health.

The clinic offered a diverse range of services, including occupational therapy, autism awareness, cancer screening, speech therapy, audiology and hearing screening, dental care, HIV testing, and mental health support. Residents also had the opportunity to receive information and advice from healthcare professionals and access referrals where further assessment or treatment was required.

The event was presented in partnership with various organisations, including Autism Action, Priya Pillay, speech-language therapist, Naseerah Moola Audiologist, The Art of Living, LAB 24, Mondia, Umhlanga, International Association for Human Values (IAHV), FOSA, UKZN School of Health Sciences, Ayurmedicare, MaNaCc Psychological Services, Satish Raghoonandan, wellness practitioner, SEWA Hands, PNC Cancer Group, Phoenix Child Welfare, Whetstone Pharmacy, eThekwini Municipality, and other organisations committed to promoting health and well-being in the community.

The organisers thanked everyone who attended and all the service providers whose dedication and generosity helped make the fourth wellness clinic of the year a success. The overwhelming attendance at the clinic demonstrated the importance of making accessible healthcare services available to communities. The event provided an opportunity for residents to access essential health services at no cost.

The clinic's success was attributed to the collaborative effort between various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, organisations, and service providers. The event highlighted the need for continued community-based initiatives that promote health and well-being.
