The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) National Delegates Conference is set to take place on October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana. Ahead of the event, over 3,000 police personnel have been deployed to provide security and support traffic management, hostel security, and arrangements within and around the stadium.

According to Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, Chairperson of the NPP Organisation Committee, preparations for the conference are complete. Delegates have started arriving and are being accommodated, while logistics, including public address systems, are being set up. Mr. Karbo expressed confidence that the event will be successful, citing the cooperation of aspirants and the readiness of the party.

Mr. Karbo praised the aspirants for their cooperation since the beginning of preparations, saying they have been "extremely cooperative." He also expressed confidence that delegates will comport themselves to ensure a successful event. The delegates attending the conference are experienced party leaders at the constituency level, and Mr. Karbo believes they will carry themselves well.

On security arrangements, Mr. Karbo lauded the Inspector General of Police and the Ashanti Regional Police Command for their cooperation. The police have deployed close to 3,000 officers to help with traffic management, provide security at the hostels, and ensure security arrangements within the perimeter and the stadium.

The election of national executives is expected to be the focal point of the congress. A total of 7,163 delegates are expected to cast their ballots. The Ashanti Region has the highest number of delegates, with 1,122, followed by Greater Accra and Eastern with 773 and 732 delegates, respectively.
