The French Embassy in Guinea and the French Institute of Guinea have launched the "Études en France 2026-2027" campaign, aimed at Guinean students seeking to pursue higher education in France. The campaign was officially launched on October 8, 2026, at the Franco-Guinean Cultural Center in Conakry. The initiative seeks to facilitate access to French institutions while ensuring that the training followed in France meets the needs of Guinea.

The campaign's launch event brought together the French Ambassador to Guinea and Sierra Leone, Luc Briard, former Guinean students in France, and numerous candidates and parents. During the ceremony, Campus France presented the different stages of the new campaign, including the application procedure, required documents, and common mistakes to avoid. An information session allowed candidates, students, and parents to obtain information on the constitution and follow-up of their files.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, Campus France has introduced a new version of its application platform, "Plateforme Études en France." The platform is designed to be more dynamic, interactive, and user-friendly. Applicants can now schedule orientation appointments directly online. This new platform aims to streamline the application process for Guinean students.

According to the French Embassy, over 1,000 Guinean students have already joined France for the 2026 academic year. Ambassador Luc Briard highlighted that 1,300 Guinean students have traveled to France this year, mostly in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). These fields are considered priorities for both France and Guinea.

One of the key objectives of the campaign is to encourage the return of students to Guinea after completing their studies in France. Ambassador Briard emphasized that student mobility should facilitate the circulation of skills and knowledge that benefits Guinea's development. To support students, the French Embassy and the French Institute of Guinea have established two programs: "Monsieur Départ" and "Madame Retour."

The French Embassy is also closely monitoring the emergence of the Simandou 2040 program, which aims to identify Guinea's future human resource needs. This will enable the embassy to adapt its advice to candidates and ensure that the training provided meets the country's needs. Currently, 40% of Guinean students in France have chosen STEM fields, which are in high demand in Guinea.

The "Études en France 2026-2027" campaign is a significant initiative that strengthens the partnership between France and Guinea in the field of education. With over 1,200 former students already part of the France Alumni Guinea group, the campaign aims to foster a community of young Guineans who can contribute to the country's development.
