In a move to promote digital inclusion and economic empowerment of women, Orange Guinée has donated 100 smartphones and provided 13GB of internet access per month for a year to beneficiaries of the MoussoTech project, implemented by the NGO Mon enfant, Ma vie (MEMAV). The project, which features an application available in four national languages, aims to support 100 women from the Dubréka prefecture over 12 months. The goal is to enhance their knowledge and capacities to foster economic development.

The MoussoTech project is designed to bridge the gap between women and information, services, rights, and technology. According to Diaraye Diallo, second vice-president of MEMAV, the initiative is a game-changer, providing a platform for women to access vital information and services. She emphasized that technological innovation should prioritize improving living conditions, and the MoussoTech application can enable women to better understand their health, rights, and financial opportunities.

Mohamed Lamine Keita, director of institutional communication at Orange Guinée, stated that the support extends beyond providing equipment. Beneficiaries will also receive internet access and follow-up support throughout the project duration. He encouraged responsible use of the tools and highlighted the potential for the project's expansion to other areas if successful.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Women, Family, and Solidarity, including Fatoumata Binta Diallo, who commended the initiative and urged partners to continue their engagement to reach more women beyond Dubréka. She stressed the importance of making learning tools accessible to all women, including those who cannot read or write.

The MoussoTech application is available in four national languages: pular, soussou, maninka, and kissi. This feature aims to cater to a broader audience and facilitate easy access to information and services. The project has the potential to positively impact the lives of women in Guinea, particularly in rural areas.

The partnership between Orange Guinée and MEMAV demonstrates a commitment to promoting digital inclusion and women's empowerment. By providing smartphones and internet access, the project can help bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for women to improve their socio-economic status.

The initiative has been welcomed by stakeholders, who see it as a step towards achieving gender equality and promoting economic growth. As the project progresses, it will be essential to monitor its impact and assess its potential for replication in other regions.
