The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has initiated a project to build a modern General Hospital at Iguobazuwa, as part of his administration's efforts to provide quality and affordable healthcare to the people. The project, which was performed through the Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, is a two-storied hospital building that will serve as a referral and secondary treatment centre for patients, mostly from Ovia Federal Constituency.

The proposed hospital is designed to meet modern healthcare standards, with facilities such as a pharmacy, mortuary, and staff quarters to support 24-hour medical rotation. According to Hon. Idahosa, the project is a remarkable and magnificent development, strategically located at the heart of Iguobazuwa, making it easily accessible to the people in case of medical emergencies.

The hospital project is not limited to the Ovia Federal Constituency but aims to bring a quality secondary healthcare facility to the people, resonating with modernity. The Deputy Governor, on behalf of Governor Okpebholo, expressed gratitude to the constituents of Ovia Federal Constituency for their support and emphasized the project's significance in improving the health needs of the people.

Various personalities, including the Iguobazuwa South West Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Anthony Osarobo, Robert Okubo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Riverine Communities, Hon. Sunday Aghedo, Member representing Ovia South West at the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), and Prof. Ikponmwonsa Omorodion, Edo State Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, commended Governor Okpebholo for initiating the project, which they believe will satisfy the health needs of indigenous localities.

The project engineer was present to take the government officials on an inspection of the hospital project, providing a detailed overview of the proposed facility. The Deputy Governor, on behalf of Governor Okpebholo, thanked the constituents for their support and reiterated the value of the hospital in improving the health needs of the people, envisioning that it will benefit even unborn children 60 years from now.

The hospital project aligns with Governor Okpebholo's SHINE Agenda, which aims to provide quality and affordable healthcare to the people of Edo State. The project is one of many initiatives facilitated by Governor Okpebholo to make healthcare seamless across the state. Once completed, the hospital is expected to provide quality healthcare services to the people, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for medical care.

With the foundation laying ceremony, the project has officially commenced, and the government has assured the people of Edo State that it will be completed to the highest standards, providing a world-class healthcare facility that will serve the needs of the community for years to come.
