The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two individuals suspected of stealing cars. The arrest was made at Ladanai Junction, along the Eastern Bypass in Kano, during a routine patrol operation. State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Agalama, confirmed the arrest at a news conference held at the command's headquarters. The suspects, Abdullahi Sani, 61, and Abdullahi Suleiman, 63, are residents of Kurna Tudun Bojuwa and Kantudu, Dala Local Government Area.
According to Agalama, the NSCDC operatives intercepted the suspects while they were driving a vehicle out of the Ladanai area around 2:10 am. The vehicle, a red Toyota Carina II Wagon with registration number LFA 417 AA (Nasarawa), was reportedly stolen three days prior to the arrest. The suspects are currently in custody, undergoing preliminary investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the vehicle theft. The NSCDC also recovered the suspected stolen vehicle in connection with the incident.
In a separate incident, the NSCDC arrested a suspected vandal at Bompai, Nassarawa Local Government Area. The suspect, 45-year-old Suleiman Shehu, allegedly vandalised an armoured cable belonging to Triumph Nigeria Limited. Shehu, a staff member of the company, was apprehended by corps operatives after committing the offence. The arrest demonstrates the importance of routine patrols and intelligence-driven operations in preventing and combating criminal activities across the state.
