Newly elected NPP National Youth Organiser, Abanga Fusani Yakubu, has defended the party's ambitious target of securing four million youth votes for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the next presidential election. Speaking on Joy News' PM Express, Mr. Abanga admitted that achieving this target would require significant mobilisation efforts but insisted it was achievable. He emphasized the need for hard work, sacrifice, and deploying the right people on the ground to get the job done.

Mr. Abanga's immediate priority is to strengthen the party's grassroots mobilisation and ensure its structures are active across the country. He described himself as a commander who must ensure his "troops" are deployed to the ground to deliver the required results. He promised to join them in their various regions and constituencies soon, vowing not to be an armchair national youth organiser.

The NPP's youth mobilisation strategy will rely heavily on social media to challenge what Mr. Abanga described as misinformation against the party. He stated that they will preach the gospel of Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, which he believes is the only solution for Ghana. Mr. Abanga also criticised the government over rising fuel prices and the implementation of the 24-hour economy policy.

Mr. Abanga questioned how the government could effectively regulate a 24-hour economy when an office expected to oversee it closes at 5 p.m. He accused the governing NDC of using social media to undermine the achievements of the previous NPP administration. According to him, they propagate lies and fake propaganda to sway people away from the good policies and initiatives implemented by the NPP.

Mr. Abanga pointed to cocoa prices as another issue the NPP would use in its campaign. He mentioned that his parents are cocoa farmers and expressed concern over the reduction in the producer price of cocoa. He noted that Dr. Mahmoud Baomia was buying cocoa for GH¢3100, but today, cocoa prices have gone down to GH¢2000. He also criticised the government over its previous promise on cocoa prices, which was GH¢6000.

Mr. Abanga stated that the NPP must now take its campaign to the grassroots and mobilise young voters ahead of the next election. He emphasized that as a youth and national youth commander, it is his responsibility to take charge, mobilise the youth, and prosecute an effective campaign to ensure Dr. Bawumia wins the election.

The NPP National Youth Organiser also highlighted that securing four million youth votes is possible with the right strategy and mobilisation efforts. He expressed confidence in the party's ability to achieve this target and urged his members to work hard to make it a reality. Mr. Abanga's plan is to make the NPP more appealing to young voters and ensure they turn out to vote in the next election.
