The Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has expressed indifference to potential leadership changes within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including the possibility of President Akufo-Addo becoming the national chairman. Speaking on Ahotor FM's Yepe Ahunu programme, Koomson stated that Ghanaians should not be overly concerned about NPP's leadership changes, suggesting that the party's primary objective is to enrich its members. He emphasized that the outcome of the NPP's National Delegates Conference will not alter the party's lack of a clear plan for the country's development.

Koomson urged the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain focused and improve its engagement with the party's grassroots. He stressed that effective communication and engagement with party supporters are crucial as the government continues to implement its agenda. According to Koomson, the NDC must prioritize its relationship with the grassroots to maintain a strong connection with the people.

Abraham Koomson praised President John Dramani Mahama, citing his leadership style and international recognition, particularly his recent participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly. Koomson believes that President Mahama is demonstrating the capacity to gradually turn around the country's difficult economic situation inherited from the previous NPP administration.

The GFL Secretary General expressed strong support for President Mahama's leadership, welcoming the possibility of him remaining in office beyond the constitutionally prescribed limits. Koomson's comments reflect his confidence in President Mahama's ability to lead the country effectively. He emphasized that President Mahama is the right person to steer Ghana forward.

Koomson called on Ghanaians to support President Mahama's efforts to improve living conditions, particularly during the remaining period of his current term. He encouraged citizens to help the President implement his plans for the country. By doing so, Koomson believes that Ghana can make progress and overcome its challenges.

The GFL Secretary General also cautioned the NDC leadership against losing touch with its grassroots. He emphasized that maintaining a strong connection with party supporters is essential for the party's success. Koomson's advice to the NDC leadership underscores the importance of effective communication and engagement with the grassroots.

The NPP's National Delegates Conference is taking place amid discussions about potential leadership changes, including the possibility of President Akufo-Addo becoming the national chairman. However, according to Abraham Koomson, such changes will not impact the NPP's overall direction or its ability to develop the country.
