The minimum distance for setting up nets is 200 meters from the coastline, and the maximum length of a net is 20 meters. Hunters are also required to release any non-target birds caught in their nets. The regulations also specify the types of hunting tools allowed, including nets, traps, and air rifles.
The regulations also outline the fees for hunting licenses, with a fixed fee of 20-100 Egyptian pounds for quail hunting, depending on the area. For migratory bird hunting, the fees are 25 pounds for a recreational license and 100 pounds for a professional license. The revenue generated from these fees will go to the Environmental Protection Fund.
The Director-General of Environmental Affairs emphasized that hunting is prohibited in the Zaranik reserve and other protected areas.
