The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network has announced plans to hold a mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10. The event aims to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general elections. Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, will host the rally, which will feature First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu as the headline speaker.

The announcement was made after a meeting of North Central APC stakeholders held in Abuja on Thursday, October 8. The meeting, chaired by APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, was attended by prominent political figures, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. Governors and deputy governors from the region, ministers, members of the National Assembly, and other political office holders were also in attendance.

During the meeting, Yilwatda expressed condolences to the families of victims of recent tragedies, including the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and a mining-related incident in Niger State. He described the incidents as painful losses and sympathised with the bereaved families and affected communities. The stakeholders also recognised Akume's role in bringing together political stakeholders from across the region.

According to Yilwatda, the planned rally in Lafia is expected to be a major demonstration of the North Central region's support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket. He described the proposed gathering as the "mother of all rallies", saying it was intended to showcase the region's commitment to the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima in 2027. The stakeholders aim to coordinate their mobilisation efforts and strengthen grassroots engagement in support of the APC presidential ticket.

The meeting also commended Governor Sule for hosting the rally in Nasarawa State. Participants welcomed the planned attendance of the First Lady and reviewed arrangements for the participation of party leaders, women, youth groups, grassroots organisations, and supporters from the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to the successful hosting of the Lafia rally and their support for the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima in 2027. The event is expected to draw a large crowd, with political leaders from the North Central region agreeing to mobilise their respective political structures and supporters to ensure a strong turnout.

The North Central APC stakeholders' move is seen as a strategic effort to galvanise support for the APC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections. The rally in Lafia is poised to be a significant event in the region, demonstrating the North Central's solidarity with the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
