The Guinean National Agency for Mining Infrastructure Development (ANAIM) recently hosted a meeting of the Dapilon mining road technical committee, chaired by ANAIM Deputy Director General Bachir Diallo. The meeting saw Nimba Mining Company (NMC) join the mutualization agreement, which aims to ensure safe and responsible use of the mining road. Representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Geology, ANAIM, and several mining companies attended the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, ANAIM Director General Aly Damalaye Condé met with NMC Director General Patrice L'Huillier to discuss the company's adhesion to the agreement. The mutualization agreement, initially signed on October 3, 2025, brings together several mining companies, including Dynamic Mining, Ashapura Minex, Winning Alliance Ports (WAP), and CDM Chine. The agreement seeks to promote cooperation and shared responsibility among mining companies using the Dapilon mining road.

During the meeting, committee members reviewed and examined NMC's adhesion act, formulating observations before approving the document unanimously. The approved act outlines the terms and conditions for NMC's use of the mining road, including requirements for driver training, personal protective equipment, and vehicle compliance. The committee also discussed a proposed penalty schedule for non-compliance with road usage rules.

The technical committee emphasized the importance of adhering to safety regulations, including speed limits, and implementing geolocation and surveillance systems to monitor road usage. Financially, the committee stressed that mining companies must regularize their dues for road usage and maintenance. The committee also addressed the need for transparency and communication with local communities and established a complaint management mechanism.

ANAIM's engagement in the mutualization agreement reflects its commitment to promoting safe and responsible mining practices in Guinea. The agency aims to balance the interests of mining companies, the state, and local communities. By joining the agreement, NMC has demonstrated its willingness to collaborate with other mining companies and adhere to best practices in road usage and safety.

The Dapilon mining road is a critical infrastructure for several mining companies operating in Guinea. The mutualization agreement provides a framework for cooperation and shared responsibility, ensuring that all stakeholders benefit from safe and efficient road usage. The agreement also underscores the importance of environmental and social responsibility in mining operations.

Through this agreement, ANAIM continues to play a vital role in promoting responsible mining practices in Guinea. The agency's efforts aim to maximize benefits for the country, mining companies, and local communities while minimizing risks and negative impacts. The adhesion of NMC to the mutualization agreement marks a significant step towards achieving these goals.
